Car Rental Requirements

  • Minimum Age

In most countries, the minimum age required to hire a vehicle is 25.

  • Driver’s License

Each driver must present a full, valid and original national driver's license held for minimum of 2 years. If your license is not in a language used in your destination country, an International Driver's Permit to accompany your national driver's license is highly recommended. Some rental companies and government agencies require that you present an IDP. It is the renter's responsibility to present both their IDP and Driver's License when picking up the vehicle. For more information, please reach out to the Rental Company.

  • ID or Passport

Each driver must present a valid and original photo ID or passport.

  • International Credit Card

The renter must present a personal credit card, valid in the country of pick-up with enough funds to put a hold for a security deposit. Third-party credit cards will not be accepted. The car rental company is solely responsible for approving the provided credit card. Online prepayment does not exempt the renter from providing a valid international credit card during vehicle pick-up. The rental company will place a hold in the amount of the security deposit and, when applicable, any additional local fees not covered in the prepaid voucher on the card provided at the rental location.

  • Prepaid Booking Voucher

You must present a printout of the Booking Confirmation Voucher at the rental location. This document officially confirms all agreed upon services, payment conditions, rates, discounts, as well as vehicle availability within the group selected.

  • Important Information

Car rental companies reserve the right to refuse service to underage or unlicensed drivers, those with poor credit history or individuals otherwise considered liabilities by the rental company.

About the Honolulu Airport (HNL), Hawaii, United States

Experience Hawaii By Traveling Through Honolulu International Airport

Honolulu International Airport (HNL) serves Honolulu and the island of Oahu. If you're flying into Hawaii, you'll most likely land at this airport. Once you pick up your car rental here, you'll be able to explore the city and the island at your own pace, making travel a breeze.

Getting Around HNL

It's refreshingly simple to navigate Honolulu International. This single-floor airport is home to a pair of terminals, but Terminal Two is where the action is at if you're looking to grab a bite or some souvenirs along the way. The connected lobby hosts both fast-food and sit-down dining options, and it also serves as the pathway to the car rental center. The offices of several rental companies are located conveniently on the ground floor of the Terminal Two parking garage. Shuttle services allow you to get to the off-site rental companies that service the area. From here, it's an easy 6-mile drive to the heart of Honolulu.

The Natural Majesty of Hawaii

Of course, if you've come to visit Hawaii, chances are that you don't want to spend all of your time at Honolulu International Airport (HNL). Utilizing your car rental gives you access to both popular destinations and hidden gems without having to deal with the hassle of tour guides or crowded local buses. Hanauma Bay is one of the most stunning beaches and nature reserves on the island, and it can be reached from the city itself in a breezy and scenic half-hour drive. If you're looking to soak up a little local history, there's the infamous Pearl Harbor, about a 20-minute drive from downtown. Check out the Ala Moana Center, a sprawling four-story shopping mall right within the city limits.

If you're going to make the trek to Honolulu, make the most of it. Book your rental car today so that you'll be ready to explore as soon as you step off the plane.
