Terms and Conditions of the RentRewards Programme

Rentcars’ Programme "RentRewards" ("Programme") is offered to clients resident in Brazil by Rentcars ("Rentcars"), represented by RENTCARS LTDA. (enrolled in CNPJ under no. 10.998. 234/0001-23, established at Rua Doutor Pedrosa, nº 151, Conjunto 1201, 12th floor, neighbourhood Centro, CEP 80.420-120, Curitiba/PR - Brazil) and by RENTCARS BV (Dutch company, registered with Tax ID No. 859404900, and with address at Schiphol Boulevard 195, 1118BJ, Schiphol, The Netherlands). This programme allows the Rentcars Client ("Client") to accumulate credits, in his/her Digital Wallet, which will be automatically linked to the account created after the registration or finalisation of bookings using the Rentcars website. If you do not want to create a personal account at Rentcars, do not check the option "I want to create an account to track my bookings" — in this case, you will not automatically join the Rentcars "RentRewards" Programme and you will not have a Digital Wallet to receive and use special credits in your bookings.
Within the "RentRewards" Programme, there are programmes "Refer and Earn", "Cashback" and "Prizes”.
The "Refer and Earn" category allows clients to share their discount link with other people. If the person who has received the link uses it and confirms their booking, this will generate credits that can be used in the future to book vehicles at Rentcars.
In the "Cashback" category, the client receives credits after booking a car via Rentcars and using it. The correspondent amount will be available after the confirmation of the use of the booking by the rental companies within a term between 45 and 240 days, and the credits will be available to customers in new car bookings with Rentcars.
In the category "Prizes" the customer can receive promotional credits that will be available for future bookings for a period determined by Rentcars.
By agreeing to participate in this programme, you automatically and fully agree to the programme’s terms. If you do not agree to the terms, you can make bookings without using the available credits in your Digital Wallet or log out of your Rentcars account and make bookings without using an account.
We act as an intermediary in the hiring of car rental reservations made available by car rental companies to you, and through our platform we offer a mechanism to search, compare prices and make reservations for car rentals, therefore all benefits and rewards offered by the programme are subject to the availability of independent partners to provide the services.
Please note that we are not obliged to provide you with any vehicles if our partners are not available to provide you with such vehicles.
Refer and Earn: sharing links and generating credits
Rentcars customers, when confirming a booking, will have access to a personalised link that can be shared with other people to make bookings with discounts.
When the person to whom you sent the link makes a booking, your credit will remain in "Pending" status until the rental company confirms to Rentcars that the booking has been effectively used. Only after this confirmation your credit status will change to "Available" and then be available in your Digital Wallet.
If the rental company confirms that the reservation, generated using the personalised link sent, has not been used, your credit will be automatically cancelled.
The customer should be aware that the confirmation of rental usage made by the partner rental companies may vary in time according to the type of rental. For reservations within Brazil, the average period for confirmation of effective use and payment varies between 45 and 120 days after the date of return of the vehicle by the customer. For international reservations, this period varies on average between 120 and 240 days.
You may forward your link to several people who are not yet Rentcars clients, i.e. who do not have a Rentcars account, and the link will only be valid if used and completed by that person.
If a person receives links from several Rentcars clients, only the client associated with the link effectively used will receive the relevant credit.
Links may not be forwarded for commercial purposes. Links must not be published or distributed on commercial sites such as coupon sites, Reddit, Wikipedia or on blogs. Similarly, it is prohibited to pay to advertise your links and/or spam anyone with them, including sending mass emails or text messages to unknown persons, or using automated systems and/or bots through any channel to distribute the link.
The customer shall indemnify and hold Rentcars, its directors, employees, shareholders, representatives and successors harmless from any action arising out of the forwarding or sharing of coupons that are not in accordance with the law, Privacy Policy, Rentcars' Terms & Conditions of Purchase as well as these Terms & Conditions.
Cashback: acquiring credits
Rentcars customers, when confirming a booking eligible for Cashback, automatically receive in their digital wallets a percentage of credit referring to the value of their booking. This credit will have the status "Pending" until the rental company confirms to Rentcars that the customer effectively used the requested booking. If the rental company confirms that the reservation was not used, your credit will be automatically cancelled.
For the credit to change its status to "available", it is necessary that: 1 - The customer effectively pays, uses the booked car, and returns it. 2 - The Rentcars partner informs Rentcars about the confirmation of item 1.
The confirmation of rental usage made by the rental partners may vary according to the type of rental. For reservations within Brazil, the average period for confirmation of effective use and payment varies between 45 and 120 days after the date of return of the vehicle by the client. For international bookings, this period varies on average between 120 and 240 days.
Rentcars reserves the right to determine whether the booking is eligible to generate credits based on internal criteria. Some rental companies may not be eligible to generate credits.
Rentcars reserves the right to revoke credits earned on a booking if the amount paid for that booking is, for whatever reason, subsequently refunded to the customer.
The Rentcars Digital Wallet may accumulate credits from all the programmes that are part of RentRewards. When using any credit to make a booking, this specific booking will not be eligible to generate new credits. In other words, if the booking was generated using any type of credit that was already available in the customer's Digital Wallet, there will be no Cashback applied to this booking.
If you have a Cashback coupon, it will not be possible to use credits from your wallet in conjunction with the coupon. The application will be alternative - either one or the other.
Using the credits
After the booking confirmation and the Rentcars confirmation of rental usage, your credit will change its status to "Available" and can then be used in Rentcars reservations made in the Online Payment and also in Mixed Payment modalities - only for the amount that refers to online payment.
It will not be possible to use credits for bookings in the “Payment at Destination” mode. In other words, it will not be possible to use the credits if the payment will occur directly at the rental agency counter.
Only the owner of the Digital Wallet can make the reservation. As to the collection of the vehicle, an identity document and the holder's credit card must be presented. These may include other required documents which may vary according to the information provided at the time of booking and in the General Terms & Conditions of purchase and use of reservations.
The credits received via Refer and Earn and via Cashback will be valid for 12 months. Both will be shown in the Digital Wallet in the currency of the customer's country of residence.
If the payment of the reservation is in another currency, there will be the respective conversion of the values and this will be subject to exchange rate variation.
There is no possibility of partial use of your credit. If you want to make a reservation using the available amount in your Digital Wallet, it is important to be aware that the entire available amount in your wallet will be applied in the reservation.
If your available credit is less than the total amount of the reservation, it will be used as a partial payment. If your credit is higher than the total amount of the booking, the excessive credit will remain available to be used in another booking.
You can choose not to use the credit available in your Digital Wallet on your booking.
If you have coupons and/or discounts from other Rentcars campaigns, these cannot be converted into credit, nor can they be applied together on the same booking.
If you make a booking and cancel within the time permitted in the General Terms and Conditions of Purchase, the credit will be refunded.
If you make a booking and do not finalise, use it, or cancel it before withdrawal, you will not be entitled to purchase the credits that the booking would generate.
Credits are issued for promotional purposes, therefore have no monetary value, and cannot be transferred to third parties or converted into cash and/or other digital currencies.
It is not possible to obtain credits by creating several accounts at Rentcars for the same person. Credits that are accumulated in different Rentcars accounts cannot be grouped into a single account.
Should your account be closed, all your credits will be lost and cannot be recovered or transferred to third parties.
If, for any reason, you believe there is a discrepancy regarding your credit balance, please contact Rentcars. Rentcars may request further information to decide regarding your available balance. All decisions regarding balance are final and will be taken at Rentcars' sole discretion.
You will be solely responsible for any tax consequences that may result from the use of the credit, Rentcars being exempt from any liability.
General Provisions
Rentcars may suspend, alter, or terminate this programme, or even the ability of any specific user to participate in this programme, at any time and for any reason.
Rentcars reserves the right to suspend accounts and/or remove credits if Rentcars identifies any activity that is suspected of abuse, fraud, or otherwise violating these terms and/or our Terms & Conditions and/or Privacy Policy. We also reserve the right to review and investigate any referral activity and to suspend customers or change credits at our sole discretion, in accordance with the rules set out in these Terms & Conditions and applicable anti-fraud best practices. The scope, range and type of bookings and services on which credits may be used may be changed at any time by amending these Terms & Conditions - which will be permanently available for review on our website.
The latest version of these Terms & Conditions will always apply.
If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid, void or unenforceable, the provision (or the part of it that renders it invalid, void or unenforceable) will be removed and will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
By making a booking, you agree that Rentcars may assign and transfer these terms, in whole or in part, to: (i) a subsidiary or affiliate; (ii) an acquirer of Rentcars' equity interests, business or assets; or (iii) to a successor by reason of any corporate transaction. These terms shall be governed and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of Brazil and any dispute shall be resolved in the Central Court of Curitiba/PR. As we are constantly improving, we frequently update these terms without prior notice. Therefore, please come back to this page whenever possible to follow our changes.
